HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE SEIKO FIRST GENTS DIVER WATCH 6217-8001











In 1965, Seiko introduced its first model of diver's watch. This first model came in calibers 6217A and its commercialization ran for 4 years period, started in 1965 until 1969 in limited quantities thus make it difficult to find because many of them have not survived till today and sought after by seiko diver watch collectors.

The 6217s were intended for Japan domestic market only.

BRACELET/STRAPIt comes on a Brand New Original Swiss Made Tropic Sport Rubber Strap.
FAT SPRING BARS are used in this watch as Seiko diver should come on fat spring bars.
SERIAL NUMBER7519652 which dates production back on May 1967. She is 45 years old.
WATER RESISTANCEWater Resistant 150 Meters  but not tested for this true old vintage diver.

As Seiko´s first diver it has high collectability in its own right, and is the cornerstone of any significant collection of vintage Seiko divers, be it a collection of 150m divers, shrouded divers or Professional (Prospex) models. In short - the collectability of the 62MAS does not need any further justification & no other Seiko diver can claim to be the first!
