VERY RARE HARD TO FIND MONDIA TOP SECOND FLASHING EYE GENTS WRISTWATCH

VERY RARE HARD TO FIND MONDIA TOP SECOND FLASHING EYE GENTS WRISTWATCH

TOP SECOND FLASHING EYE was one of the brilliant innovation by Mondia. These watches are rarely seen and hard to find. These Top Second have a flashing eye on the dial which alternates between black and orange to show that the watch is working and ticking.
The movement of this watch is a modified automatic 25 Jewels A. Schild  cal. 1913.  We can see the trick of flashing eye when the caseback and dial removed, there is a plate painted red, rotated by the rotor.
The flashing eye effect is created by a bow-tie shaped rotor which makes a full revolution once every two seconds. When an arm of the rotor arm passes under the hole in the dial the dot changes to red, and for the rest of the time the eye is black, the background color is actually the painted section of the date driving wheel.
