Brief Information on Accro Watch Company
Accro (sometimes labeled Accro Bond) was a brand of moderately priced watches that has long since disappeared, probably some time in the 1960s - I don't recall ever seeing an Accro newer than that. The movements were made by 3rd parties assembled in Switzerland.
It's the kind of watch that might have been sold at local department or jewelry store in Switzerland and small quantities have been exported through out europe. Because the brand was targeted for european markets, they probably sold for a touch less than Bulova or Gruen, which had similar business models but were much larger and well known brands.
There is little information about this watch company to say about their history. The watch probably is more valuable for its gold content (especially with gold prices now high). Any qualified watchmaker would be able to service it, but parts may or may not still be available. Unfamiliarity with the obscure name on the dial would not be a qualifier, nor would it particularly help if the watchmaker knew the brand.
On opening the watch, any watchmaker will likely recognize the movement inside - probably an A. Schild or one of the other modest Swiss movements of the time.
