HISTORY OF HENRI GIREAUX WATCHES

This was not a high-end Swiss luxury manufacture like Rolex or Omega, but rather a mid-20th-century American brand name used for imported watches. The brand was registered in July 1956 in New York by “Henri Gireaux watches/Victor Huff” (or associated with Victor Huff, who also used the brand “Bernhuff Watches”). It appears to have been a distribution or marketing name primarily used in the US postwar era (roughly 1950s–1970s), with watches assembled or finished under that label.

These watches were typically Swiss-made (as indicated on many dials and cases in listings), using reliable but standard Swiss movements from ebauches (base movements) produced by companies in the Swiss watch industry.
